My first journey to Dovedale started at Ashbourne and then a 1 hour walk to the start of the Dovedale valley. This did not allow me much time as I wanted in Dovedale but I still had long enough to get to Milldale before heading back.

This is Cloud hill which is at the entrance of the valley.

The stepping stones which can be under water after alot of rain.

Natural arch leading up to a cave

More caves which were once inhabited by primitive man.

The village of Milldale which was the end of my walk before heading back.

Lots of sheep covered the hills.I would like to go back and walk along the ridge.

The view walking back to Ashbourne

Rolling Hills on the way back.
