Chatsworth at Christmas
There can be few better places to visit for atmosphere at Christmas than Chatsworth house in Derbyshire.The house stays open until just before December each year and is decorated in a different Christmas theme from early November.

The Peak District,Matlock Bath to Chatsworth House
Today I visited Matlock Bath walking to Lumsdale near Matlock and then getting a bus to Chatsworth House.This is Matlock Bath on the River Derwent. It is a small town well known for its cable cars leading across the river to the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver's Kingdom theme park.
The very small cable cars
Lumsdale is a small valley near Matlock with several waterfalls and the old ruins of long deserted water mills. It is often very empty and quite spooky around here.
