Christ comes to Leicester

Christ in the Centre is a major open-air recreation of the Easter story and has been held in the centre of Leicester every Good Friday since 2003.It regularly attracts audiences approaching 10,000 people, making it the largest such event in the country.

Every Good Friday since 2003 Sword,the Christian drama company re-enact the arrest,trial and crucifixion of Jesus in Leicester city centre.In the castle yard next to St.Mary De Castro there is also a re-enactment of John Wesley preaching to crowds as he did in this exact spot in 1770.
